First service of the year. First time serving. First time as an ALLSTAR. First time seeing the ALL the other STARS. First time being a senior in lower sec.
It's been great.
I'm the encourager in my group, yay!
I'm supposed to write encouraging emails to them every fortnight.
Cool eh?
YAY.
And I think it's pretty cool.
We're gonna have SBs.
*gasps*
SO COOL RIGHT?
Anyway, yea I'm not in a posting mood now.
But I do want to talk about the direction I'm moving towards in the year of 2008.
2 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
In the year of 2008, this will be one of the verses that I will keep in my heart.
Another verse would be the famous John 3:16, which (honestly) I have not applied/remembered the essence of although I knew it... Rather well...
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
In 2008, there are some things that I will uphold as my personal values and priorities.
The greatest change in my direction this year would be the one centred around John 3:16. Actually I was looking for a verse that captured the spirit of love, and suddenly John 3:16 just struck me. Because God is love, and love, to me, is truly demonstrated through what God has done for this world. For 2007, my focus has been on myself, quite understandably growing MYself in MY walk with God for ME to grow closer to God, to read the word, to pray daily, all that. And I know that in 2008 God has a different plan. To turn my focus from being inward looking to being outward looking. In loving God, I hope to capture the heartbeat of God, His love, that in turn I will have a heart of compassion for the people around me, that I will value them just as God does!
And the other thing that I'm gonna zoom in on this year is to be an example. To live a life of faith in God, as a testimony, a reflection of God. For believers in church, like the ALLSTARS, to be a good senior (a benavon!) For people in school, to show the love of God!
One more thing. The verse is from the 10 commandments. "Love the Lord your God with all Your heart and with all Your soul and with all Your mind."
To place God as the very centre, the whole reason for my existence.
These are the key things I will do this year!
And I should go sleep now, after so much blabbering.
